Beatrice Hammond is the proud granddaughter of Lois Laxton and has been dancing at the studio from the age of three. As she has matured, her repertoire has extended to the styles of ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, hip hop, musical theatre, modern, and lyrical. The most challenging and rewarding aspect of her dance life, however, has been finishing her advanced PAEC (Performing Arts Educators of Canada) examinations in ballet, jazz, and tap. Beatrice has been an assistant teacher at the studio for over five years and is very excited to be joining the wonderful teaching staff at LLDS.
As a member of ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists), Beatrice has been in TV shows such as How to be Indy and Skatoony and commercials for Canadian Tire, Maple Leaf Chicken, and Smart Bread. Moreover, at Hillfield Strathallan College, Beatrice has avidly and passionately taken part in each Middle School and Senior School Musical. Over the years, she has played the roles of Pepper in Annie, Mushu in Mulan, Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Charlie, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street, Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables, and Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Beatrice now attends McMaster University and is studying in the field of humanities. She hopes to take advantage of all the incredible opportunities the university has to offer.
